I am Sibahle from a small village of Rietfontein, I am 22 years of age. I used to live with my mom and dad in a small shack house. Both my parents are unemployed due to lack of knowledge and skills. We would go to sleep with empty stomachs sometimes, while some other days mom would try to provide for us with the little she would gather selling veggies for my rich neighbour. It was really sad how both my parents were struggling, but I told myself that since I am done with my secondary level, I'll go to Joburg and look for a proper job because there was no money to pay for my further studies. So, in 2022/07/23, I decided to leave and go look for work at Joburg. I had a friend around the area namely Charlotte, who accommodated me at her place to stay while job hunting. I searched and searched for employment, but I was unable to find one.

One day, my friend came to the house where we lived in, drunk, then started insulting me, telling me that I should pay rent before the end of the month since I've been staying with her for free and also eating her food without any contribution. What she said to me didn't leave me amaze at all because I knew that one day, she would say words like those since I have heard that at Joburg nothing comes for free, so yeah, I had to pay, and but then I thought, how am I going to pay her with because I have no job nor a boyfriend? So, I decided to go take a walk since I needed some air and time to think of a plan.

When I was on my way out, my mom called asking me to send money home ASAP because my dad was not feeling well. I told her that I'll try to ask my friend for money since I don't work, but deep down in me, that was the last thing I would intend to do. So, on my way when I was busy walking, I met a group of girls wearing shorts, weaves, and carrying handbags. I went close by and asked why they go around wearing such. One of the girls replied and said that what they are doing is what keeps them living since they have no work just like myself, thus they are now selling their bodies for money. After hearing that, I nearly cried but I decided to hold myself, then I asked myself this question; "so I also have to sell my body like them since I have no job, and my dad needs my help" after that monologue I asked those girls how to get in business like them, Afterall I also needed money to support my parents. One of them replied and said, "it will be very easy for you to enter since you have a nice sexiest body".

Those words left me freezing but I guess this is the only way out from poverty. The girls then took me to some weird smelling place and gave me clothes and accessories to wear so that we can get into business. We were doing those things at night and so many beautiful cars would stop where we stood, taking different girls with them.

A guy came with a BMW X5 and called me to tag along. We went to his place and guy was so generous he offered me something to drink, but then I said, "no I'm fine I am only here for business", going close to him to try and take him on since that was what those girls advised me to do. That guy stopped me and asked me to relax. The guy started crying and said, "my sister, the reason why I chose to take you is because I saw how uncomfortable you were in those clothes down the streets so that told me something abou...." I cut him short, "and what was it?", The guy explained every little thing that I felt right away, and everything was right "I can actually see in your eyes the type of a girl you are, so you don't need to fake yourself and act like a prostitute, yes I know you need money but trust me, there are many ways to make money than prostitution. You don't have to be down the streets at dusk just for money, you don't need to steal just to make money and you don't need to kill just to make money, so today you are lucky that someone like me came by and saved you, but one day, there will be no one to save you from those old men. I advise you to not make any rash decisions, because some decisions in turn are harmful." When that guy said all those, tears were already floating down my cheeks, I was really grateful to have met such a guy. The guy asked me to stay with him after explaining to him my story. I am now at a university studying for a degree in law because of him and for that I am so grateful because I know that it is all God's doings. I am able to send my mom and dad money every month-end because of him. I really wish there could be men out there like him.
